Zack is a great guy and knows lots about comics. If you like comics in the central Maine area than you should check him out. Set up a weekly pull list and save some money!
I can't explain how excited I was to see a comic book shop open near me. I work nights and have a busy schedule and driving to Portland never happened. Now when I do go in Zach has my books set aside and they are ready to go for me. He has an excellent selection of back issues and also has a wide variety of comic book related merchandise ranging from figures to lunch boxes and more. If you're a fan of classic pinball he has one of those too!
I was just visiting Maine with my daughter in October. A close friend told me that there was a comic shop in down town Hallowell that he had been meaning to check out, so we went. It had been years since I had spent time picking out comics for myself. It was a real treat to be able to visit the Editor's Note Comics.
It was getting close to closing time, but the owner welcomed us all inside. He was polite, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I thought it was nice that he pointed me in the direction of some discounted comics as well as telling me about the new books he had on display. The shop is a little small, but not at all in a bad way. It has a cozy feel, and the layout is pleasing and well organized. I immediately felt more comfortable there than some of the bigger shops I have been too, and there was so much to draw the eye that I felt like I had to see everything.
Editor's Note Comics is great! It has a wide variety of comics, books and merchandise! Zach was very helpful to me in finding the perfect, age appropriate comics for my kids! He offered fantastic sales for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday! In fact, he often has price-slashing deals to make room for the most current issues! I can't wait to have my kids fall in love with comic books and frequent this store more often! He even has a regular Nintendo to play!
Thr proprietor is friendly. He always knows which comics I would like to try.
